And why? What kind of support is given to whom? 3.Relationships between the organizations 4.Problems and expectations 5. How do people make a living (with land, without land, with irrigation, without irrigation), what are the most important income sources of people in the village? 6. Specifications of Non-farm employment 7. Which crops do you (m/f) grow for household consumption? Which crops do you produce for the market? (fully or only surplus?) Where and to whom do you sell? Which livestock do you rear? 8. Who decides the price of your crops? 9. How do you get information on markets (prices, innovations etc.?) 10. Do you get information from extension services? And what type of information do you get? (this question could be addressed under ‘key informant interview’ for extension officer above) 11. What does the marketing structure look like? How is the market access for you and the whole village? Marketing chain? Show in map; who is involved in each chain? 12. How do you transport your product to the nearby market? 13. Are you involved in cooperatives, farmers associations, Self-Help-Groups, etc. (if yes, mention the types of cooperatives, associations… you are involved and type of benefits you get) 14. Do you hold a land title? Do you know how to title your land? For what purpose do you use your land? 15. How can you acquire land? How is land inherited? (What happens if a husband dies or in case of divorce?) 16. Are there any constraints for women to work outside the house for income? 17. How do you fulfil your need for items that you are not able to produce in sufficient quantity or at all? 18. Is there a system of bartering and buying on credit in the village? 19. No money, where do you get money from? How do you access credit? What are the available options? What are the interest rates? 20. Are you in any contractual agreements with purchasers (i.e., contract farming)? 21. What do you do if your harvest fails? 22. What is your vision for your children? Does any of the children want to take over the farm, if not why not?
