Those areas where most indicators - with low performance - overlap were ranked as those areas experiencing highest marginality. This map was constructed within the MARGIP project aiming at identifying the poor and marginalized by finding areas with marginal performance in proxy indicators representing different spheres of life (based on the publication Gatzweiler et al. 2011: http://www.econstor.eu/bitstream/10419/88402/1/772782253.pdf).
