The data was extracted on 25th May 2021 and the search query used was "topic = land, AND document type = Article, AND language = English, and time span = 2000-2021".

D METHODOLOGICAL INFORMATION

1. Description of methods used for collection/generation of data: The data was sourced from Clarivate's Web of Science database. 
The search query used included 'topic = land, AND document type = Article, AND language = English, AND time span = 2000-2021'

2. Methods for processing the data: 
We sourced 316,390 articles which the passed through an inclusion-exclusion criteria in R and Excel. The screening scheme ensured 
that only journal articles were included, that the research area variable only had articles with research areas relevant to land 
use science such as agriculture, environmental sciences and ecology, biodiversity and conservation, forestry, water resources, 
and energy and fuel, and exclusion of articles with more than 20 authors, and lastly duplicate studies were removed.
