The thymiaterion with a high foot, found in a grave in Falerii Veteres and dated between 650 and 620 BC, is made of impasto bruno and was produced in Etruria. The vessel is composed of a trumpet-shaped high foot and a bowl with a broad, projecting rim which shows a circumferential line, a dot row and rays of light scratched in the surface. Furthermore, there are two holes drilled in the rim for hanging up the vessel. Due to the shape, it was not usable as a drinking vessel. The vessel type can often be found in graves in Narce. Therefore, it is assumed that it served ritual purposes, maybe as an incense burner, a thymiaterion.
