The data support hydrological simulations, calibration, and validation aimed at evaluating streamflow dynamics in data-sparse basins.

Daily discharge records were collected for four basins in Northern Nigeria: Oroo, Jamaare, Hadejia, and Kaduna. The dataset covers the period from January 1, 1983, to December 31, 2011. The data were processed using R (statistical computing environment) and QGIS (Geographic Information System) to ensure accuracy and spatial referencing, and hydrologic modelling was performed using the mesoscale Hydrologic Model (mHM).

This dataset was produced as a research project focused on understanding hydrological processes in data-scarce basins in Nigeria. The primary language of the documentation and associated metadata is English.

This dataset contains observed river discharge time series with the mesoscale Hydrologic Model (mHM).
