The study uncovers the flavonoid biosynthesis gene repertoire underlying anthocyanin pigmentation in this species. Using ONT long-read sequencing data, highly continuous genome assemblies were generated for both an anthocyanin-pigmented and an unpigmented M. commutatum plant. This data publication contains the genome sequences with corresponding annotations.</dcterms:description><dcterms:subject>Agricultural Sciences</dcterms:subject><dcterms:language>English</dcterms:language><dcterms:date>2026-09-18</dcterms:date><dcterms:contributor>Vieira Salgado de Oliveira, Julie</dcterms:contributor><dcterms:dateSubmitted>2026-09-03</dcterms:dateSubmitted><dcterms:license>CC BY 4.0</dcterms:license></metadata>
